Drilling - machines.- The arm of a radial-arm drilling - machine is locked to the pillar by a shoe operated through a shaft from a handle carried by the spindle slide. When the arm is not capable of vertical adjustment, the shoe A, Fig. 2, may be tightened upon the pillar by a screw-rod F operated by a lever, the shoe being mounted in a slot provided in the arm sleeve. When the arm is vertically adjustable on the pillar a circular divided ring E, Fig. 3, is mounted on the pillar flanges M, and is adapted to be drawn tightly together by means of an eccentric bush R mounted in the eccentric eye of a bolt T, Fig. 4. The eccentric bush is secured to a rod S which is adapted to be rotated from a handle K through mitre gearing V.
