28,208. DuchÔteau, J. I. Dec. 17, 1910, [Convention date]. Spring wheels with continuous outer rigid ring and helical springs.-The ends of rigid spokes are connected by pairs of links, arranged like toggle-levers, to bars fixed at intervals to a helical spring arranged circumferentially in a hollow rim. The links e, Fig. 1, are adjustable in length and pivoted to the ends f of a bar secured to the spoke. The cross-bars g, Figs. 8 and 9, are secured to the spring by clips and fitted with rollers bearing on the edges of a floating inner rim b. In the form shown in Figs. 1<a> and 22, there is a ring b<1> bracing the spokes which is overlapped by a metal casing t secured to an outer rim v. The ends of the bars g carry rounded heads s which engage cam-surfaces u on the casing. In the form shown in Figs. 23 and 41, the spokes d are rigidly connected to a tubular bracing-ring 3 and are pivoted to pairs of short levers 11. The links e are pivoted to the links 11 and extended, through adjusting-devices 14, to the hub where they are fixed to rings 18 arranged side by side and pivoting around the hub.
