27,742. Wigley, H. F. A. Dec. 11. Casks &c. made from staves; heads.-A drum or container for cement, apples, flour, &c., or for viscous liquids, is of prismoidal form constructed from interlocking staves or panels held together by metal binding-strips 7 adapted to be torn off when the drum is required to be dismantled. The staves are grooved at each end, and are assembled round the polygonal head and bottom, the bottom being preferably nailed in position. The centre panel 9 of the head is arranged to be removable when the cross - piece 6 is taken off, rabbets 10 being formed in one of the side panels and a nailed-on fillet 11 being provided to facilitate this.
