Sheet-metal frames. - The frames of motorvehicles are pressed from a single sheet of metal, preferably steel, and are provided with separate concave recesses /, g forming the lower halves of the engine crank-case and gear box. The side members are at each end pressed into L or U section and may be curved upwardly, a rear cross-bar k<1> being provided. The metal is cut awav at the centre of the frame to form a gap h for the fly-wheel and clutch, and depressions l are adapted to receive the shaft bearings. The pressing-process is carried out in stages by three or more sets of dies.
