Abstract

24,459. Grant, J. C., and Davis, H. Jan. 17. Type - casting machines; moulds; finishing type.-In pivotal machines such as are described in Specification 27,670/10, the following means are provided for delivering perfected type from the mould to a shoot. The type is formed with nicks on both sides of the tang by means of a slotted wire 88 provided with a clamping-screw 89 for adjustment to the set-width of the type. The type is broken from the tang by drag-pins in the top section of the mould. The type is carried in the top section, and when released drops into a shoot. The tang is retained in the bottom section by the wire 88, and is ejected by means of a lever 93 having a cam-slot 92 which engages a pin on the lever 21.
