20,168. Almfelt, K. J. Sept. 11. Ball bearings.- A ball bearing having two or more rows of balls comprises an inner race ring a, Fig. 1, formed with grooves b in which the balls run, and an outer ring d with conical surfaces e formed as tangents t o a sphere struck from the centre g of the bearing. The balls run in shallow grooves h formed in the conical surfaces. The rows of balls overlap, and the balls are spaced and retained in a cage consisting of a coil of wire i, Fig. 4. In a modification, a stamped sheet-metal cage with tongues bent between the balls is used.
