Abstract

17,025. Aikins, S. July 25. Knobs.- A hollow sheetmetal door-knob is formed in two parts A, B, the body portion A having an opening in one side of less diameter than the major axis of the cap portion B. The edges of the two parts are joined together by fusion, preferably by electric welding. A stiffening-ring F may be used. If a smooth joint is required, the contacting faces of the two parts are first ground flat to a feather edge.
