Indicators, alarm and signal.-A float A for indicating the presence of water in ships' compartments rotates a drum D which completes a circuit between the springs k, l through plates e, f. The circuit includes an indicator on a switchboard. A number of contacts may be spaced round the drum to give a quantitative indication of the height of the water. In the form shown in Fig. 3, the float A rotates the casing c to make contact between the pendulum u and the spring v. The connexions are made by two blades on the cover of the casing c fitting between the springs x<1>, x<2>. Specifications 28,973/04, [Class 106, Registering &c.], 10,229/07, [Class 38, Electricity, Regulating &c.], and 27,898/07 are referred to.
