Electrical systems, automatic; track apparatus actuating signals other than on trains; visual outdoor signals; slots, reversers, and like apparatus.-Electrically-operated signals are held in the " clear " position against the action of a counterweight so long as the field coils 13 of the driving-motor are energized; the armature 6 has deep and wide slots 5 relatively to the air gap. A switch 15 in the armature circuit is opened when the signal is set to " clear." The motor is geared to the signal thrust-rod by toothed gearing. The application of the improved semaphore signal mechanism to the signalling - system described in Specification 1048/11 is described.
