Razors. - In razors having blades which are readily removable and which may be fixed in any desired position, the blade is clamped at the pivot between two springs arranged between the shank and the handle scales, the pivot consisting of a removable and easilyadjustable set-screw, or of two projections g, Fig. 1, on the springs. Each leaf spring e, f is riveted to an inner wall of the U-shaped metal handle, the members of which are connected by a screw h. A second screw i projects through one scale, and bears against the other so as to limit the movement of the scales to the forward end. Dish-shaped perforated springs may be used and, in handles of celluloid or similar substance, spring strengthening-strips may be inserted along their length, and to these the projections for the pivot may be attached, additional metal strips being provided on the handle to take the screws i, h. In the construction shown in Fig. 3, the scales consist of a U-shaped metal strip, and have reinforcing- strips p inserted in cavities o and held therein by the screw m that forms the blade pivot. According to another construction, the springs consist of metal strips secured to and bent over the ends of each scale and provided with lugs such as g forming the pivot, the scales being secured by one or two screws such as h. The head of the screw which constitutes the pivot may be countersunk in the handle, and its outer end may be grooved to enable the screw to be rotated.
