13,633. CambessÚdÞs, J. E. F. June 7, 1910, [Convention date]. Rotary distributors, timing-arrangements for. In starting an internal-combustion engine, the distributor is so arranged in connexion with the driving-device of the magneto that it first transmits a starting-spark and afterwards one or more retarded sparks. During the initial part of the drive, the distributor n, Fig. 1, occupies the normal running position shown and transmits a starting-spark. When the lever i reaches its upper position, it engages a tail n<1>, Fig. 3, on the distributor n and shifts it until a projection n<3> snaps into a depression o<2> under the action of a spring p. The distributor n is now in the retarded position and remains there during the latter part of the drive. When the lever i reaches its lowest position it engages another tail n<2> on the distributor and shifts it into the normal running position again, the projection n<3> snapping back into the notch o<1>. In a modification, the retarding is effected by means of a quick-pitch screw.
