Circular-saw machines; sawing-machine tables. -Wood is fed to a circular saw below the level of the saw axis so that the teeth enter obliquely and cut in the direction of the grain. Fig. 1 shows a machine with the plank e being fed on a vertically-adjustable table a to the lower part of a circular saw b. An auxiliary removable upper table f may be hinged or otherwise fitted to the bench so as to allow work to be fed to the upper part of the saw when desired. The circular saw may be removable so as to allow the saw bench to be converted into a planing or moulding machine by substituting a suitable cutter.
