Abstract

11,709. Imray, 0., [Farbwerke vorm. Meister, Lucius, & Br³ning]. May 15. Asymmetrical arseno compounds of the general formula R1-As=As-R2, where R1 and R2 represent different aromatic residues, are produced by reduction of a mixture in equimolecular proportions of two different arsonic acids or arsenoxides, or of an arsonic acid with an arsenoxide not derived therefrom. In examples are prepared 4-aminobenzenearseno-3-amino-4-oxybenzene, phenylglycinearseno-3-amino-4-oxybenzene, and 3:5-dichlor-4-oxybenzenearseno-3- amino-4-oxybenzene. The products have therapeutic properties. Phenylglycinearsinedichloride hydrochloride is prepared by the action of sulphur dioxide upon a hydrochloric acid solution of phenylglycinearsonic acid in presence of a little hydriodic acid. 3:5-Dichlor-4-oxybenzenearsenoxide is obtained by the reduction of the corresponding dichlorphenolarsonic acid.
