Abstract

10,554. Salzer, B., and Lõssig, F. W. May 1. [Addition to 787/11.] Straight-bar machines.-Relates to the invention described in the parent Specification for arresting the thread-guide bars 17 against their stops 33 without shock. The stops are carried by verticals attached to nuts 31 mounted on the fashioning-screws 30. The bars 17 are driven from the slur-cock rail 9 by means of bellcrank arms 18 pivoted at 12 to clips 16 mounted frictionally on rods 15. The short arms of the bell-cranks carry pins 19 enclosed by curved slots 27 of plates 20 which are mounted to slide freely in a lateral direction in the clips 16. The nuts 31 carry striking-rods 25 which arrest the movement of the plates 20 when the rods 17 are a short distance away from the stops 33, and the continued movement of the clips 16 rocks the bell-cranks 18 and retards the movement of the rods 17 towards their stops.
