8324. Stebbing, A. E. April 3. Feeding-devices for endless-chain elevators.- A bucket elevator apparatus suspended from the free end of a derrick arm is provided with rakes or scrapers actuated from the bucket chain for feeding coal or like material to the elevator. The derrick arm B is formed as a shoot and is carried on a pivot B<1> vertically adjustable in a frame A mounted on a rotatable base. The rakes K are carried by pairs of arms K' pivoted on pinions L<1> geared to the tumbler L. Cords N are attached to the arms at the pivoted end and at an intermediate point and are passed over fixed pulleys. Two or more rakes may be arranged on each pair of arms. The gearing is preferably enclosed in a casing.
