Abstract
8024. LaurÞs, C. B. B. April 9, 1910, [Convention date]. Drawings to Specification. [Addition to 12,746/10.] Clinometers; compasses, magnetic. - The instrument described in the parent Specification is improved in the following particulars. (1) The pivoted magnetic needle therein used is replaced by a suitably magnetized, pivoted, and graduated compass card; (2) the two perpendicular axes of rotation of the gravity system are mounted in ball bearings; and (3) the swing- ing weight of the gravity system is formed with a number of parallel channels and moves in a bath of oil in order to damp its vibrations.
