Abstract

4714. Beck, C., and Beck, H. C. Feb. 24. Lenses.-A three-lens photographic objective, of the Taylor type, working at a large aperture and having a field of more than fifty degrees, is composed of t w o positive lenses L', L<3> approximately plano-convex made from glass having low or moderate refraction and dispersion, and placed on either side of a doubleconcave lens L<2> of higher refraction and dispersion. The focal length of the lens L<2> is at least three-tenths that of the whole combination and the axial separation of the outside lenses is not more than about one-quarter of such total focal length.
