Urea-hydrogen peroxide compound.-A solid compound of urea and hydrogen peroxide is produced by treating urea with hydrogen peroxide or with products or mixtures capable of producing hydrogen peroxide, at a temperature below 50‹ C., and isolating the product by cooling or evaporation to the point of crystallization. The hydrogen peroxide may be produced by the action of carbonic, sulphuric, oxalic, or phosphoric acid in theoretical proportion or in slight excess upon barium peroxide in the presence of urea solution. The compound liberates hydrogen peroxide in presence of sufficient water, and is useful in therapeutics.
