Seats.-The seating A of a sluice or like sliding valve is secured to the body of the casing B by means of a cylindrical flange C having a bifurcated end D which is forced into a groove E in the casing, preferably undercut, as shown, whereby the end D is spread laterally to lock the seating in position.
