Abstract

28,823. Tilden, A. Dec. 12. Saws, setting. - A combination tool consists of a steel stamping 1, having along o n e edge file teeth 2 for sharpening saws, and formed with a V-shaped recess 3 for setting saw teeth and a bifurcated projection 9 for turning the slotted nuts usually used for securing the handles to saws. The saw teeth are set by placing the recessed part of the tool over the teeth and drawing or tapping the tool over till a screw 7 comes into contact with the body of the saw. The screw 7 is adjustable and is locked in position by a nut 8. A strengthening- band 6 may be welded round the tool at the slotted part 3.
