Metallic cements and plastic compositions.- Cement or concrete products are rendered waterproof by the addition of an oxidizable substance such as iron, in the form of very fine powder, and also asbestos. The amount of iron powder added may vary from 5 to 40 per cent of the cement, the quantity being greater where heavy wear is experienced. In an example, to 200 parts of sand and 100 parts of cement are added 10--30 parts of the metallic element, and 5-10 parts of asbestos. The ingredients are preferably mixed wet, or they may be mixed in a dry state for transportation.
