Harness saddles.-An anti-friction roller attachment fitted on the ordinary wooden harness saddle-tree or saddle for carrying the back-band comprises a channel-shaped member, Fig. 14, the side flanges f, g of which have depending ears carrying the pivots of two or more rollers k. The rollers project above the floor h of the attachment, the flanges of which are also connected by side-pieces i, i<2>. The flange f is raised so as to adapt itself to the front part of the saddle-tree. The attachment is secured over an aperture c, Fig. 2, of the saddle-tree by means of screws passing through the side-pieces i, i<2> into the recessed parts n of the tree. The floor h may be dispensed with, and, instead of the side-pieces i, i<2>, lateral ears, through which the securing-screws pass, may be provided on the side flanges. Fig. 8 shows a modified attachment which is secured to the sides of a wooden tree-trough by means of screws passing through holes p in the side flanges f, g. The floor h is absent and, in addition, the cross-pieces i, i<2> may be dispensed with, the flanges f, g being connected together by the roller pivots. Fig. 10 shows pivotless rollers k arranged to rotate in channels s connecting the side flanges; a side plate prevents the rollers from slipping out through one of the flanges.
