The roller or clod-crusher, which may consist of a number of disks h, is mounted in a frame g provided at each side with eyes e<1>, e<2> for the attachment of a chain having a ring to slide on a bar b carried by brackets a<1>, a<2> from the frame of a mechanically-driven plough. The roller is not turned round at the headland, but the draught chain is moved from one to the other of the eyes e<1>, e<2>.
