Contents, delivering. -A match-box 1 having a spring-hinged lid 3 is provided with an ejector 15 slidable in a slot 14 and having a toothed inner face 16 to engage a match in a U-shaped channel 8 and eject it through a hole 4 in the lid. The hole may be serrated to ignite the match, and may be closed by a sliding closure 5. The matches are pressed towards the groove 8 by spring- pressed flaps 12, which are hinged to pieces 1<a> secured to the box, and are raised when the lid is opened, to allow the matches to be inserted in the box, by U-shaped tongues 11 formed from cut-away portions of a bar 10, hingedly con nected to a piece 9 secured to the lid.
