Abstract

22,312. Priem, P. Sept. 26. Tilting and raising and lowering mechanism for wire - cloths; shaking - apparatus for wire-cloths.-In a longitudinal straining cloth paper-making machine, the cloth is adjusted to suitable inclination without the height of the breast-roll end of the cloth being altered. In Fig. 1 the suction part b is maintained at a constant inclination, being mounted on telescopically extensible standards l operated through rack-and-pinion gearing by a crank k, and the shake-frame a is supported on girders c pivoted at e and connected to the suction part by an arm h. The suction part is inclined at the maximum inclination of the shaking part. The suction part and shaking part may be both mounted on the girders, and the whole adjusted by means of a screwed spindle and worm-wheel mechanism at the free end. The straining-cloth may be carried by girders above it, and the rollers and the suction boxes may be supported on the rails themselves, struts or a truss frame being used for stiffening. The shake-frame is supported from the girders above it by flexible steel bands to allow of the necessary shaking motion.
