Abstract
21,990. Turnbull, R. Sept. 22. Printing - apparatus, rapid bromide.-An apparatus for bromide printing comprises a fixed table b with a sliding part o, Fig. 6, carrying the paper, and a box a underneath the table with an inner sliding frame c. The negative is resiliently supported on a frame c at the top of the frame c, which is raised to bring the negative flush with the table surface by the levers i, h connected to the frame c by a pin f, which slides in the slot g of the box a. The printing-lamp l and red lamp m are fixed at the bottom of the box a. The printing-paper is clamped on the slide o by the hinged end p, Fig. 7, on the slide o. The paper b<4> is punched by a punch u and retained by pins q on the slide o. The slide o moves between the flanges b<1>, b<2> of the table, and carries a plate r with a pin s to engage a succession of pins t on the strip b<3> in printing a series of prints. The pressure platen v is normally held up by springs at the back of the box and is lowered by hand. The platen has two pressure springs v<4> and contacts are arranged in connexion with the platen and the box so that the lamps l, m are alternately switched off and on as the platen is raised and lowered.
