Cleaning internally, non - rotary appliances for; cleaning, fluid-pressure processes for.-Obstructions are removed from yard gully traps &c. by means of an appliance capable of being moved to and fro in the drain, and consisting of a body member whereon removable disks are mounted so as to compress a resilient material between them. The pressure on the resilient material c may be adjusted by a fly-nut f, and to facilitate introduction into the gully the disks c, d are each divided into two or more pieces which may be hinged together. The member a is hollow and is provided with non-return valves l, s so that if the to-and-fro movement fails to move the obstruction the water service may be coupled up, and if this is insufficient the water pressure may be increased by operating the plunger n.
