Abstract

17,751. Zwicker, J. G. July 26. Moulding screw-threads.-Relates to the threaded matrices for moulding screwed pipes, as described in Specification 13,402/10, and to moulds for producing them. The mould for producing the female matrix 18 comprises an outer ring 2 formed with a tapered threaded part 4, a cylindrical threaded part 5 into which screws a ring 13, and a collapsible inner shell 6. In operation, the mould is assembled as shown in Fig. 1, and cement, gypsum, &c. is run in and strickled by means of an arm 14. When the material is set, the outer part 2 is screwed downwards as shown in Fig. 2, and the shell 6 is collapsed by a screwed spindle 17, leaving the matrix free for removal. Similar apparatus is used for the male matrix.
