Acetates and other carboxylates. -Cellulose ester solutions are produced by means of a solvent consisting of a mixture of symmetrical dichlorethylene and alcohol, with or without other solvents. In one example, cellulose acetate, produced as described in Specification 21,628/01, is dissolved in a mixture of dichlorethylene and alcohol. Cellulose acetate produced as described in Specification 24,067/06 is in a second example dissolved in the same solvent mixture, and in a third example in a mixture of dichlorethylene, alcohol, and acetone.
