Fastening. - A fastening - device for boots and shoes comprising helical springs 1, Fig. 6, having eyes 2 engaging studs 4 on the flaps, is provided with flexible protective grooved pieces 5 between the springs and the flaps. In combination with this, a tensioning-device is used, which comprises a cross-piece 8, Fig. 3, secured to one flap and connected by helical springs 7 to a plate 9. which is pivoted to a plate 11 secured to the other flap. To tighten the boot, the plate 9 is folded on to the plate 11 and secured by a catch thereon.
