Lubricant conveyed by mechanical means.-A lubricator for the axles of railway or tramway vehicles &c. comprises a roller 4 mounted in a frame in the lower part of an axle-box which forms an oil-reservoir. Springs 7 press the roller against the underside of the journal 3, to which lubricant is thus conveyed. The roller may be fluted longitudinally or circumferentially, and may be covered with laminated or woven fibre.
