Abstract
5383. Murdoch, J., [Robinson, W. M.]. March 3. Suspending and supp o r t i n g . - Telegraph, telephone, or other conducting wires are secured to insulators or to supports by means of a device consisting of two members A made for instance of steel wire, which engage the wire B by means of open spirals a; the parts a<2> are then made to embrace the insulator or support, and the free ends are so shaped that they can be interlocked either by hand or by means of a fork-like lever. As shown, the interlocking ends are formed as eyes a<5>, but if desired one end may be left straight and interlocked with an open helix on the other end.
