Abstract
3647. North, R. B. Feb. 14. Counters with snap action ; transfer mechanism; zeroizing-mechanism.-Odometers &c., particularly of the kind described in Specification 25,318/07, are fitted with improved transfer-mechanism between the units dial hand and the revolving disks &c. for higher denominations, with simultaneous zeroizing-means for the hand and the disks, and with means for stopping the counter at its highest indication. The disks &c. are actuated through a pinion l by a finger g operated by means of a pin-and-slot or other lost-motion connexion. The finger has a pin r to engage a spring s, so bent as to throw the finger forward and quickly bring the next digit to the reading-aperture. A detent spring u positions the disks properly. The zeroizing- lever f has a pin w to depress the detent spring u so as to allow a spring to zeroize the disks simultaneously with the zeroizing of the dial hand by the heart cam c and roller c. A tooth is omitted on the pinion l, so that. on attaining the maximum reading, it does not engage the finger y. Instead of a coiled spring, a heart cam may be employed to zeroize the disks &c.
