Abstract
1893. Simms, F. R. July 25. Rotary interrupters and distributors. - A combined interrupter and distributor for ignition purposes comprises a revolving spindle c, upon which is secured a base-plate a<3> carrying an insulated contact a<9> and a bell-crank contactlever a<4> with a fibre heel piece b and a holding- down spring a<12>. A spring a<10> holds the lever a<4> against the contact a<9>, and cam-surfaces upon a fixed outer member a<1> periodically deflect the lever a<4> by engagement with the heel piece b. An insulating arm d provided with a contactbrush e is keyed to the spindle c, and co-operates with a ring contact f and concentric contact-segments h carried by a cover-plate g. The segments h are connected to the sparking-plugs.
