Explosives.-Relates to explosives containing nitroglycerine, not more than 30 per cent, and nitrocelluse, with or without a non-volatile solvent. and prepared under the combined action of heat and pressure, such for example as described in Specification 10,376/89. According to the invention a mixture of the constituents in the form of a dry paste is subjected to high temperatures (about 80‹ C.) and high pressures (several hundred atmospheres), whereby a plastic mass is obtained that can be easily moulded into tubes and patterned strips in spite of the small proportion of nitroglycerine. One example contains 24 parts of nitroglycerine, 69 parts of nitrocellulose, and 7 parts of ethylmethyldiphenylurea.
