Abstract

24,934. Maw, A. Oct. 29. Trimmings.-Relates to tassels &c. composed of a hard core, covered with textile material, and having a central hole for the suspending- cord, and consists in providing a nipple of metal, india-rubber, &c., to prevent the textile material from being frayed by the cord. As shown in Fig. 1, the nipple 5 fits tightly in the hole 4, and is flanged at the top end. As shown in Fig. 3, the nipple a has a flanged end b and protecting tongues c, which, when the nipple is inserted, engage the sides of the hole and prevent it from coming out. As shown in Fig. 4, the tube a passes right through the hole, and has one flanged end b, the other end e being expanded flat; or a tube of rubber may be used.
