Abstract

23,303. Herzberg, P. Oct. 12. Spool holders.-A holder for paper rolls comprises a pair of brackets g, r, mounted on a base n, the bracket g supporting, by means of the fixed shaft m, a flanged hollow disk a adapted to receive one end of the roll, the opposite end being carried, in the form shown, upon a disk o mounted on a sliding shaft p and kept in place by a spiral compression spring t. The disk a has spring-actuated bolts b with bevelled ends, projecting through its edges, and adapted to pass through apertures y in the roll-support s to. lock the roll in position and prevent its removal as a whole. On a boss in the disk a is coiled the spring f, one end of which is secured to the disk and the other to the bracket g, so that, after a given length of paper is drawn off, the rotation is stopped, and the paper may be torn off. In a modification, the supporting- device for the other end comprises further means for preventing the removal of the roll, comprising a disk fixed to a two-armed lever pivotally arranged at the end of a hollow shaft with one arm inside, this arm having a hooked end adapted to snap into a recess in the shaft, and the other arm resting vertically against the end of the roll.
