Delivery apparatus. - Sheets are piled between joggers 11 on a table 10 either printedside up or printedside down by reversible grippers 37 removably attached to travelling chains 13, the direction of motion of which can be changed at will. The sheets pass from the impression cylinder 2 between guides 55, 56 and rollers 83, 84, to intermittently-moving tapes 50 and guide-bars 59, by which the sheets are passed between a roller 86 and a dropping-roller 91, and between guides 59, 61 to the grippers 37. The tapes 50, bars 59, rollers 86, 91, and guides 61 are all mounted on a pivoted frame 57, which can be elevated or depressed by a hand-operated shaft 102 controlled by a pawl 104 and ratchet-wheel 105, and carrying pinions 101 gearing with the segments 100, so that the sheets are directed either to the grippers 37 in their upper position as shown, and then pass round the cylinder 49, and are laid on the table 10 in a reversed position, or the sheets are taken by the grippers 37 in their lower position, and simply carried above the table 10 and dropped. The cam-actuated rod 97 can be coupled to the dropping-roller mechanism to suit either position of the frame 57. The chains are driven either way at will by adjustable bevel-pinions. The shafts carrying the gripper mechanism 37 are removable from the chains, and reversible. Fixed cams such as 45, 46 are placed in positions to operate the grippers. The mechanism for raising and lowering the table may be of the kind described in Specification 19,447/09.
