Abstract
19,401. Marshall, D. Aug. 24. No Patent granted (Sealing fee not paid). Locking nuts.-A nut is almost divided into two parts by a slot B, Fig. 2, and is locked on its bolt by widening the slot by an oval key D, which has the effect also of forcing the part G against the work. The key has arms H, Fig. 4, which are bent down in the locking position to engage the sides of the slot, the ends E being afterwards hooked together. Fig. 5 shows a modification in which the slot B has a tapered enlargement to receive an oval key D, which is rotated by a spanner. The key has a ridge S which snaps into the narrow part of the slot in the locked position.
