Abstract

17,668. Hipssich, K. July 29. Aerial machines without aerostats; planes, arrangement and construction of; propelling steering. -An aerial machine is provided with a main plane a having upwardly-inclined ends b, which is pivoted on a transverse rod d supported from the car c and situated at or about the centre of pressure. The rear end of the plane is connected to one arm of a bell-crank lever x by a spring rod e which permits the plane to alter its inclination automatically. The lower end of the bell-crank lever x is connected to the hand-lever z and to the motor, or fuel or water reservoir, so that this is displaced simultaneously with the adjustment of the plane a in order to prevent movement of the car. The propeller h is mounted on the frame of the machine near the rod d, and rotates in an opening in the plane. A fixed tail g and a rudder f are provided.
