Buttor-fasteners.-A button-fastener for use on shoes &c., of the type wherein the button is secured by a wire staple and backing-plate, comprises a concavo - convex plate 4, Figs. 2 and 3, having a central hole 6 and two diametrically opposite notches 5, and a wire staple 3. The staple is passed through the fabric 2 and central hole 6, the ends being turned outwardly in opposite directions to engage with the notches 5, and then bent over the convex side of the plate to lie parallel to one another and close to the legs of the staple.
