Inclined p l a n e and like load-handling appliances.- The apparatus, which is adapted for application to existing ladders, comprises a oari iage b running on the side beams by two pairs of oppositelydisposed conical rollers c. The carriage is hauled by a rope g passed over a head sheave h mounted in a bracket k forming an extension of one of the inner members p, p<1> of a pair of clamps. The outer member q of one clamp is fixed to the transverse bar, and the other outer member q<1> is adjusted thereon by a screw s according to the width of the ladder. The inner jaws are operated by a right and left-handed screw r. The rope g may be led in any desired direction over a pulley m mounted on a bracket clamped to the lower end of the ladder. The bracket k is preferably arranged to rest on one of the rungs. According to the Provisional Specification the pulleys may be made to swivel.
