Tone-arm joints.-Relates to an elbow joint to enable the sound-box to be turned into two positions, namely, along and across the record grooves, for reproducing Edison and Berliner records with the same stylus, which is moved into two corresponding positions. The elbow has a pin h entering a slot e forming a double bayonet joint in a tube b, which telescopes into the tone-arm a and is secured at any point by a nut c. This joint enables the sound-box to be turned through a right-angle. The soundbox is secured to the elbow by a screw m entering a semicircular slot in the elbow. In a modified form, the sound-box is secured to the elbow by a pin and bayonet-slot extending just over a semicircle, to give the stylus bar a slight tilt when used with Berliner records.
