Abstract
28,363. Martin, H. Hinks-, Cameron, A. W., Packman, P. J., and Hart, S. C. Dec. 24. Phonographs &c.-Relates to means for reproducing both zigzag and hill-and-dale cut records by the use of the same sound-box. For records of the latter kind, an adaptor tube b, Figs. 1 and 3, is interposed between the sound-box and the ordinary U-piece a of the tone arm of a gramophone, the adaptor being such as to allow the needle and needle bar to be in a vertical plane with the axis about which the sound-arm rotates, and the soundbox in a plane at right-angles thereto. Pins fitting in bayonet-slots furnish the attachment. Figs. 4 and 5 show modified forms. If necessary, in order to bring the bracket holding the trumpet and tone arm further back, so that the stylus may come in the centre of the record, a thickness of wood &c. may be inserted between the bracket and case.
