Abstract

14,624. Webb, H. June 22. Disk wheels.-Rollers for skates comprise a rim A, Fig. 1, of aluminium or steel, side disks C, one of which may be integral with the rim, and ball races d connected by a tube E, riveted over at the ends. The edge of the disk C lies in a faucet cut in the rim or formed by means of a steel lining b, and is secured by swaging over the edge a<2> of the rim. Fig. 7 shows a modification in which the rim F is of fibre and the ball races are spaced by means of a raised boss on the tube E, or by means of a loose washer. Creeping of the rim is prevented by means of bolts g or by the engagement of notches or projections on the rim and side disks.
