Air tubes and chambers.-In reinforced air tubes, the meeting edges b, c, Fig. 1, of the fabric a are serrated so as to leave an undulating elastic strip when the tyre is inflated. The reinforcing-fabric may be placed in the body of, inside, or outside, the air tube, and, where two or more layers are used, the meeting edges may or may not be arranged to break joint, and the warp and weft threads of each layer are placed at an angle to those of the other layers. The elastic clearance strip may be situated at any part of the tube, and when at the tread position a protective strip of fabric is arranged over it.
