Swivelling joints for stand-pipes for hydrants comprise a jointing-piece 1, formed with a ball -race 4 and adapted to receive the pipe 5 carryi n g the corresponding ball-race. A water-tight joint between the two is made by packing 11 and a gland-nut 10. A locking - screw 12 is fitted to bear on the flange 7.
