Abstract
12,379. Gray, J. Nov. 26. Gauge glasses.-In order to facilitate reading from pointers, scales, moving-liquid, and other indicators, one or more mirrors are arranged to give a direct view of the instrument free from parallax. For liquid-level gauges, a mirror is mounted behind the gauge glass and tilted to throw the reflection to a convenient point for the observer. For a long travel of the liquid, a curved mirror H, Fig. 9, may be employed, or a stepped mirror, or a number of small plane mirrors set at suitable angles, as shown at 8, 8<a>, 9, Fig. 13.
