Abstract

Capillary - action l u b r i c a t o r s. - A lubricating-pad for railway-axle boxes &c. is secured to a spring frame by detachable c l i p s comprising flexible arms g, Fig. 5, fastened to the pad a by hollow rivets h. The arms g are passed through and around the frame members e,f and are bent as shown. The rivets h may also secure the stops d that prevent too close contact between the pad and the journal. In a modification, the arms g pass through slots in a plate which is riveted to the frame. Instead of using clips g, the rivets h may have necks engaging keyhole slots in the frame. The springs c of the frame are supplemented by auxiliary springs k.
