Abstract
12,010. Ekenberg, M. May 21. Processes. - Briquettes are made from peat or the like which has been carbonized by the wet process described in Specifications 10,834/03 and 20,420/03, [both in Class 50, Fuel Manufacture of], whereby its hydrocarbons are retained, by drying it until it contains very little moisture, and then strongly compressing it at a temperature above 120‹ C. The carbonized peat may be dried by heating it first in an open vessel at from 100-120‹ C, and then in a closed vessel at above 120‹ C but below the temperature at which its hydrocarbons are given off. It is then passed to a high-pressure open-die briquetting-press.
